Sutter Says:

...in many places that he is a 26-year veteran of the U.S. Navy.

"Now – for my detractors – pay attention, here’s where your math needs work. In the Navy, as in all armed forces, one can be active duty, or reserve duty. Both can be considered being in the Navy. I spent from 1974 – 1980 on active duty. I then spent from 1980 – 2000 as a reserve officer living for some periods of time in the civilian world, and other periods of time on call-ups, (where I would be called back to duty for a length of time), depending on the Navy’s needs. For the critics who cannot understand the math, (1974 – 1980 = 6 years) + (1980 - 2000 = 20 years)= 26 years.

(The original source for this was here in his ironically titled "Just the Facts" bio.  After standing by his phony military claims even after being exposed, Sutter finally "edited out" his 26 years of military service from this particular posting.  Interestingly, within the piece he still accuses others of telling "lies" about him, while he relies on "facts."  Judge for yourself.  Here is what he used to say about himself on this same page: images A and B.  He is a liar with no shame.)

Sutter's "James Bond" fantasies were even more laughable in an earlier draft:

"During this time I became quite well trained and experienced in counterterrorism, in other cultures, learned other languages (although I’m pretty rusty now), traveled extensively, and dealt with many situations."

"I spent 26 years in the USN CT ops..."

According to Sutter's latest Yahoo Profile, he calls himself a "retired squib." (source)  He also refers to himself as an "ex-squib" on his Hate Watch Hall of Sham site.

The Truth:

Sutter was discharged after serving less than eight months in the Navy, allegedly following an altercation with an African-American serviceman.  His actual dates in service were from October 22, 1975 to June 8th 1976.

Sutter was never an officer, as he claims.  Neither was he a Seal or any other counter-terrorism operative.  He is not a Vietnam veteran.  He won no awards and he was not in combat.  He did not retire.  In fact, he left under questionable circumstances after just a few months.

Update:

Sutter is continuing to misrepresent his military service while accusing us of lying!  Thanks to the Freedom of Information Act, however, anyone can find out who is telling the truth.  You can find instructions here.
